Orenthal James Simpson, nicknamed The Juice, is an American former running back, broadcaster, actor, advertising spokesman, and convicted robber. The NFL Hall of Famer was the 1968 Heisman Trophy winner at the University of Southern California and the first overall pick of the Buffalo Bills in 1969. He was also put on trial in 1994 for the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and a waiter, Ronald Goldman however he was acquitted of the charges after a widely disputed verdict.

Simpson was born on July 9, 1947, in San Francisco, California. He is the son of Eunice, a hospital administrator, and Jimmy Lee Simpson, a chef and bank custodian. Simpson lived with his family in the housing projects of the Potrero Hill neighborhood. He joined a street gang called the Persian Warriors in his early days.

Simpson was an all-city football player at Galileo. He joined the City College of San Francisco in 1965 and played both as a running back and defensive back in the football team. He attended the University of Southern California (USC). As a senior, he rushed for 1,709 yards and 22 touchdowns in the regular season, earning the Heisman Trophy, the Maxwell Award, and Walter Camp Award.

The first selection 1969 AFL-NFL Common Draft was held by the AFL’s Buffalo Bills, after finishing 1–12–1 in 1968. He struggled a lot in his first three years but in 1972, Simpson rushed for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.He also broke Jim Brown’s single-season rushing record of 1,863 yards in the same game.

Simpson was in his hometown on team San Francisco 49ers for a series of draft picks where he played for two seasons. He was named NFL Player of the Year in 1973, and played in six Pro Bowls. He was the only player in NFL history to rush for over 2,000 yards in a 14-game season and he’s the only player to rush for over 200 yards in six different games in his career. He is a speedy player and a charm to watch as well. He even opened ways for his acting career starring in television mini-series Roots (1977), Klansman (1974), The Towering Inferno (1974), The Cassandra Crossing (1976) and Capricorn One (1978) and many more. He has his own film production company named Orenthal Productions .Simpson also has two children with his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson. His diverse career holds precious to him to be true to self.
