Drew Christopher Brees is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He was chosen by the San Diego Chargers in the 2001 NFL Draft after a successful college football career.

Drew Brees was born on January 15, 1979, in Austin, Texas. He is the son of Eugene Wilson Brees II, a prominent trial lawyer, and Mina Ruth (died 2009), an attorney. He also has a younger brother named Reid. When Brees was seven years old his parents had a divorce and both the boys custody was shared frequently between the parents. He had a challenging and rough childhood. He got his sports strength from his family as his father was a basketball player while his mother was a former all-state in three sports in high school.

Brees was on the flag football team at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. He was selected as Texas High School 5A Most Valuable Offensive Player in 1996 and led the Westlake High School football team to the state championship. Brees’s play for the Westlake was honored in the USA Today, All-USA high school football team. He wanted to play for the Texas Longhorns but he was not recruited despite his record.

Brees choose Purdue College for its high-rated academics. He graduated in 2001 with a degree in industrial management. Boilermakers head coach Joe Tiller gave this man his fresher start in basketball. In 2000, he led the Boilermakers to a memorable last-minute win against Ohio State. Purdue even won the invitation to the 2001 Rose bowl due to the victories over Michigan and Northwestern. He earned the Academic All-America honors in 1989. He also won the Academic All-Big Ten honors and the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Award. Brees also made it to the Purdue’s Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.

Brees was picked in the 2001 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. He won many awards such as 4 NFL Comeback Player of the Year 2004, for his service for this team. Since 2006 he joined New Orleans Saints. He is a top player of the team and has won in many seasons. He led the New Orleans Saints to victory in Super Bowl XLIV and broke a number of single-season NFL records. In his private life, Brees married to Brittany Dudchenko in February 2003. They have three sons, Bowen, Callen, and Baylen, and a daughter, Rylen. He has a handsome earning of $80 million and continues to progress in his career.
