Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American political activist and professional football quarterback who is currently a free agent. He last played with the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He led his team to an NFC title and The 49ers even signed him to a 6-year extension, worth over $110 million, in June 2014.

Colin Kaepernick was born on November 3, 1987, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the son of Heidi Russo, a 19-year-old Caucasian woman. His birth father was African-American and separated from the lady before Kaepernick was born. He was put for adoption and a couple named by Rick and Teresa accepted him. In his senior season, he got 3,022 passing yards, twenty-one passing touchdowns, eight interceptions and 1,206 rushing yards and twenty rushing touchdowns.

In late 2011, the San Francisco 49ers traded him with the Denver Broncos from the 45th overall pick to select Kaepernick at the 2011 NFL draft.He was the backup to Alex Smith and only attempted five passes during the season. His first career postseason start, against the Green Bay Packers, had 263 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, one interception and 181 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns as the 49ers defeated the Packers 45-31. He also set an NFL single-game record for most rushing yards by a quarterback with 181, breaking Michael Vick’s record of 173 in a 2002 regular season game. He continues to play splendidly each season. He departed from the 49ers in 2016.
